ケン・ミルハウス先生
ミネソタ州セントポール市で生まれる。３才未満の時に宣教師の両親や弟と共に日本に行く。東京都練馬区を始め、和歌山県橋本市、埼玉県所沢市、そして名古屋市で育ち、高校卒業まで日本に住む。ミネソタ州のベテル大学で演劇を勉強し卒業後、ベテル神学校、そしてマサチューセッツ州のゴードン・コーンウェル神学校で勉強し、牧会学修士号を取得し卒業する。1995年からコンヴァージの宣教師として日本人伝道のために派遣され、ボストン日本語キリスト教会を開拓し、牧師として現在まで活動している。また、コンヴァージを代表してRJC(Reaching Japanese for Christ)のリーダーシップチームのメンバーとしても活動している。妻のデビーと２人の娘、クロエ、フィべと共にマサチューセッツ州サマーヴィル市在住。
Rev. Ken Milhous:
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, he went to Japan when he was almost 3 years old with his missionary parents and younger brother. He lived in Tokyo, Hashimoto (Wakayama Prefecture), Tokorozawa (Saitama Prefecture), and Nagoya while in Japan, and was there until graduation from high school. After studying theatre arts at Bethel University in Minnesota, he attended Bethel Theological Seminary, and then Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts, graduating with a Master of Divinity degree. He serves as a missionary with Converge, reaching Japanese in the United States, primarily in Boston, where he pastors the Boston Japanese Christian Church, which he planted in 1995. He also serves as the Converge representative to the Reaching Japanese for Christ (RJC) Network Council. He lives in Somerville, Massachusetts, with his wife, Debby, and two daughters, Chloe and Phoebe.

ワークショップ①「自分を知る、他者を知る」by Izumi Araki
他者を他者として理解するためには、まずは自分が誰かを知る必要があります。なぜそれが必要なのか、私たちが落ち入りやすい盲点はなんなのか、そして、日本人だからこそ活かせる点、気をつけなければいけない点を検証します。人と関わる上で、またメンターとして、まずは自分の「くせ」を見つけてみましょう。
ワークショップ②「アクティブリスニングを活用する」by Izumi Araki
他者の声を他者として聞くにはどうしたら良いのでしょうか？ また、相手が本当に言わんとしていることを私たちは聞いているのでしょうか？ このワークショップでは「聞く」こと、聞くための質問をすること、また、言葉を選ぶ時の注意点そしてインパクトを考えていきます。
ワークショップ③「心配しないで、心を開き、話ができる、そんなメンターになる為には：パーソンセンターカウンセリング理論から学べること」 by Keita Onuma
このワークショップは、カウンセリング理論の一つである、パーソンセンターアプローチから、どのようなことを、メンタリングの関係の中で、適用していくことができるかを、共に考えるものとなっております。パーソンセンターの強みである、最初の段階での効果的な関係づくりを築くこつをこの理論の代表的なテクニック(Active Listening, Unconditional Positive Regards, Reflection of feelings, Clarification, Empathy, Congruence) を学ぶことにより、メンタリングの関係づくりへの適応方法を考えます。
ワークショップの内容は、１）パーソンセンター理論とは ２）ヒューマニスティックなカウンセリング理論を、聖書的観点からクリスチャンのメンタリングに用いる ３）特にメンタリングの関係の中で、用いることができるいくつかのテクニックの紹介
メンタリングの関係づくりに、即座に適用できる心構えの変換から、あなたに与えられた、貴重なメンタリングの時の充実そしてステップアップを目指します。
